Pivot Point Tarot Cards
The goal of the Pivot Point Project was to create a series of visual illustrations that effectively showcase the different individual career and team pivot points. The intent was to use these illustrations across various digital and physical platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, workshop workbooks, and presentations. Additionally, a set of Tarot Card-sized cards and a versatile discussion guide were developed for interactive workshops and speaking engagements. The project was so successful, it ended up being the foundation of an entire rebrand for the company, and all assets created are a core aspect of the brand identity for What You Do Matters.

The Concept
The direction for the Tarot Cards was inspired by Brittany’s love for fantasy.
“I’m bringing a fresh, bold approach to leadership development. Think of leadership as an epic adventure —a Hero’s Journey full of battles, obstacles, & victories” - Brittany Neish
The tarot cards informed an entire rebrand that now reflects that magical, transformative journey, and stands out from all the all of the other professional development programs out there.
Brittany approaches the leadership development as a Hero’s Journey, helping leaders tackle real-world challenges with confidence, just like the heroes in stories like Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, ACOTAR, Fourth Wing & Lord of the Rings.
Brand Color Palette
The color palette is inspired by earth tones to embody wellness and recovery, while incorporating a bright pop to represent fitness and energy. Hypnotic Sea and Recovery are the primary colors, with Terracotta and Dogwood Blossom being Secondary. Vibrancy is reserved for accents to add emphasis and interest.
Initial Sketches
Together, Brittany and I spent a lot of time in the sketch phase to make sure we were creating visuals that would resonate with each Pivot Point, and be something workshop attendees would resonate with. Even though some of these Pivot Points represent challenging phases in a person’s career, we wanted these cards to be inspirational- something they could pin up that would inspire them to keep going. We created not just individual illustrations, but a world that connects through each Pivot Point. There are symbols embedded into each card that are then carried throughout the series to strengthen the meaning, and show how connected some of these phases are. Welcome to the World of What You Do Matters!
The Process: From sketch phase, to color blocking, to the final illustration
